In the midst of World War II, Allied Commanders preparing to invade occupied Europe were faced with a great challenge. With most of the continent’s harbor facilities in ruins, there was no way to deliver vital troops and supplies from ship to shore. A smaller craft was needed; one that could transport payloads quickly and efficiently while navigating ocean waves and maneuvering around obstacles on the beach. The answer came in the form of this new craft was equipped with six wheels for maximum traction on land and a propeller for water operation. Soldiers nicknamed the new amphibian “the Duck.”

These restored ducks travel by land and water on trails tucked away among the natural beauty of Wisconsin Dells. Squeeze through the narrow walls of Red Bird Gorge. Coast around the exhilarating curves of Roller Coaster Hill. Plunge into the Wisconsin River.

Experience 8 1/2 miles of breathtaking views from towering sandstone cliffs to scenic wilderness trails. Take a one-hour tour aboard a green and white duck. Located on Wisconsin Dells Parkway!
