Overlook Mountain is the southernmost peak of the Catskill Escarpment in the central Catskill Mountains near Woodstock, New York. The spur trail to the right of the ground cabin takes you to a ledge with a magnificent view of the Hudson River, Ashokan Reservoir, the Central Catskills, and up to five states. Located in the Catskill park region, Overlook Mountain beckons nature lovers with its trails and campgrounds. Hudson Valley views from the cliffs on Overlook are incredible, and the fire tower and old hotel ruins. but the reward is 2 miles up, where the ruins of a hotel wait for you to explore! Another .5 and there is a fire tower as well, offering views of the Catskills and Hudson Valley.
